audiences, composer\u00a0Kenneth Fuchs brings us a world premiere. This is a continuation of\u00a0more than\u00a030 years of collaboration between Kenneth Fuchs and Music Director JoAnn\u00a0Falletta, which began in 1985 when they were students at Juilliard. Written\u00a0specifically for VSO\u00a0Principal Cello Michael Daniels and his brother David,\u00a0this new work is based on the poems of Judith G. cycles of Musica Marin\u2019s composer-in-residence Clint Borzoni and four living American poets: John Grimmett, Sally M. timelessness, a song cycle for tenor, clarinet and\u00a0piano, consists of six musical settings of poems by Judith Wolf.\u00a0The cycle is\u00a0written in\u00a0three groups of two songs each that are distinctly related. \u201cThe\u00a0Meaning of Life \u2014 I\u201d depicts dealy life and the anticipation of spending each\u00a0night at \u201cMarcella\u2019s\u201d for drinks\u00a0and conversation. \u201cThe\u00a0Meaning of Life\u00a0\u2014 II\u201d\u00a0portrays an unsatisfactory love relationship, and \u201cThe Concert\u201d draws an ironic\u00a0conclusion.
