Young Arts Arizona Ltd. is a nonprofit organization that serves challenged children through the arts by exhibiting their artwork in 35 public galleries and teaching art in medical facilities. Young Arts was co-founded by Dr. Wolf, who is the President and CEO. Since 1998, Young Arts has been fulfilling a need in Arizona for children to express themselves through art making and to build their self-esteem by exhibiting their creations. Young Arts works with children in medical facilities who have severe and life-limiting illnesses, conditions, and injuries, as well as children who are disadvantaged, homeless, abused, orphaned, detained, mentally and learning disabled. Making art encourages them to creatively express feelings around their challenging situations. Exhibiting their art helps them feel good about themselves.
“I thought I’d take a moment to tell you what an impact the art program has had on my daughters. It has positively changed one of my daughter’s self-esteem by showing her what she can accomplish through self-expression. Your program has been fabulous for her.”
— April Murphy, parent
“What you do for children is quite powerful. You build confidence in children by showcasing their art – you make them feel important and very special. Thank you for showcasing Isabella’s art.”
— Christy Atler, parent
“It has been a joy and a privilege to work with you and Young Arts Arizona this year. The looks of pride and accomplishment that shine from the faces of the young artists when they see their work framed and on display—priceless! Young Arts Arizona gives them a unique gift.”
— Jamie Dove
“Thanks for working with us for all of these years. It is really great for the kids to see their work in places other than school or home. It creates a greater relevance for them.”
— John Avedesian, Phoenix Elementary District, Art Director
